RODIN RODANNADANNA
2000. Kansas City, Mo. For the Milleneium, the city renamed a prominent street “The Avenue of The Arts.” It runs past the convention center, the opera house, and other theatres, facing directly into Lipski’s circle of life-sized casts of Rodin’s The Thinker, festooning a new parking structure. While they appear to be made of bronze, they are actually pigmented fiberglass. As the sun sets, neon lighting within gives the work a different and dramatic visage. The work was fabricated by the great William Kreysler & Associates.
